Widowed White Male looking for love. Nanny needed.

Its been a while since I watched The Nanny. But I did tonight, and I came to the startling conclusion: I want Mr. Sheffield. Wow, what a man.

Qualities:
- British
- Wealthy
- Just a touch of grey forming around the temples
- Doting Children
- That intense 'will I or won't I' air


I'm sold. I'll be your nanny.

And this image comes from the episode I saw tonight, where Mr. S reunites with his father, who disgracefully left his family to be with his tawdry secretary (Joan Collins guest starring). Sheffy suddenly decides to embrace his father's attitude and get with Fran, only to change his mind. See future post for my thoughts about Mr. Sheffield taking back his 'I love you.'

Songs That Make My Bitter Heart Fuzzy: Randy Montana Edition

Here's an honest to God fact: like most of humanity, Pip and I love music. Heck, we opted for the band sorority route when it came to Greek life in college (shout out to my TBS ladies & gents- 90's style!).

So, just for the heck of it, I figured I'd add a bit of a music element to our lovely little blog. And seeing how this is a blog about the 20-something love life (or lack thereof), I thought I'd talk songs that warm my bitter heart. You know, like I said in the tag line.

OK, confession: if I met him in real life, and I was drunk, I would attempt hooking up with him (sorry Kelly Clarkson). And if I was sober, I'd smile, say something awkward, and probably run away (girl's gotta have an MO!).

ANYWAYS.... back to the subject at hand. Randy "Make it look tempting to move to the state of" Montana is actually from Albany, NY [side note: damn it parental unit, couldn't you have moved THERE when we moved upstate?]. He released is debut single in 2010, and his new single "1000 Faces" is making its way up the country charts now.

So why does it make me warm and fuzzy inside? It's a song that starts slow and subdued, builds to a great guitar solo, and slams to an ending. The beat drives through the song, building to this burst of emotion, at least from where I stand. And the message: "Love has a thousand faces, and I see you."

Yep. Warms my little heart.

The Bad Wife is Back

Something's different about my favorite lady heroine, Alicia Florrick.
She's not taking things lying down anymore, and I respect that.
She doesn't need a man to make stuff happen, and there's no fury like a woman scorned.
Rock on Alicia!

• Cheating husband (again).- Moved him out.
• Meddling mother in law. - Dismissed and promised she can still visit the grown kids.
• Former best friend that slept with her husband. -A cold hello.
• Kids. - Asked them to lie to everyone about the split for now.
• Husband's campaign manager. - 5 minutes of conversation where she mentioned her life and death case and refused marriage counseling.
• College flame/love interest. - Cautious chatting and refusal to take off some family time.
• Client (Liver transplant patient moved from donor list). - Got confirmation the woman was removed because her doctor was biased.
  

I think what struck me most about this episode was the fire in Alicia's eyes. Finally here is a woman who has constantly been told what to do, who to talk to, and how to live a good life for everyone else involved. Now, shes' not playing by the rules anymore. She's making things work for her, on her terms. And that is the very definition of girl power!
